Mt. Moosilauke (1907) - High Bridge
Over Baker's River - Hundred and Fifty Feet Above the Water
". . . The high bridge over Baker's river at East Warren is an attraction to summer tourists worthy of note and the place is visited some days by scores. This bridge is a hundred and fifty feet up from the wild mountain stream and spans the river in a wide spot, about half a mile from The Moosilauke. The original bridge built there some twenty years ago when the Warren and Woodstock road was built was of single stringer design and became unsafe for public use after a few years of service.
The town fathers began to look about for an iron or steel bridge to take its place, and fortunately found a second-hand one practically new which was doing service at The Weirs, but owing to the electric railway being built had got to be replaced by a wider structure. The town closed a trade and the bridge was brought up here, erected and today is practically good as new and one of the attractions of Warren. It is well worth a dozen mile trip to visit the place. . . ."
