Mt. Moosilauke (1862 - Bradlee's Pocket Guide
". . . 5000 feet in height, in the town of Warren, N.H., one of the villages between Plymouth and Wells River, is one of the highest peaks in this region, and is much visited by travellers. Upon the summit of the mountain a very comfortable house has been erected, with ample accommodations for at least fifty persons. And such a view as meets the eye from this summit is nowhere surpassed.
The mountain is very accessible. From Warren, a delightful ride of four miles brings you to the foot of the bridle path, whence sure footed horses will carry you to the summit in two hours. . . ."
